Residential Roof Replacement with Cut-to-Fall Insulation & PMMA Waterproofing
This project involved a 600m² residential building with persistent roof leaks and significant ponding. Following a detailed assessment, it was clear that the existing roof system had failed and required a full replacement to deliver a long-term solution.

A full rip-up of the existing roof system was undertaken, followed by the installation of cut-to-fall insulation to correct drainage issues and ensure effective water run-off.
To ensure robust, reliable waterproofing, a WestWood Wecryl PMMA waterproofing system was installed. This cold-applied, fully reinforced system was selected for its rapid curing, seamless application, and proven durability in residential flat-roof applications.
The existing roof was removed back to the deck, allowing for the installation of new cut-to-fall insulation to create positive drainage across the roof area. Once the insulation was in place, the Wecryl PMMA system was applied, forming a seamless, fully bonded waterproof membrane.
Particular attention was given to detailing around outlets, upstands, and penetrations to ensure a watertight finish and long-term performance.
The Results
By combining a full roof replacement, cut-to-fall insulation, and WestWood Wecryl PMMA waterproofing, this project delivered a high-performance roofing solution that addressed both the symptoms and root causes of failure. The result is a reliable, long-lasting roof system that protects the building for years to come.
